What is llms.txt, and why should you care?

llms.txt is a small text file you place at the root of your website. It tells AI systems — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini — what your site is about, in a format they can understand quickly.

Think of it as a curated "here's what matters" summary. Without it, AI crawlers have to wade through your navigation, your tracking scripts, your cookie banners, and your footer to find the actual content. With it, they get straight to the point.
